Elizabeth Stride :
Born on 27th November 1843 in Sweden and died on 30th September 1888. Elizabeth Stride was living at the 32, Flower and Dean Street. She was from a very Catholic family, her education was very strict. However, it didn’t stop her from becoming a prostitute in 1862. Her family and her entourage claimed that she was calm, kind and altruistic despite her alcoholism. She was buried on 6th October 1888, in the East London Cemetery.
On Sunday 30 September, the body of prostitute Elizabeth Stride was discovered at about 1 am in Dutfield's Yard, inside the gateway of 40 Berner Street, Whitechapel. She was lying in a pool of blood with her throat cut from left to right. She had been killed just minutes before, and her body was otherwise unmutilated. It is possible that the murderer was disturbed before he could commit any mutilation of the body by someone entering the yard.
But another murder happened the same day, the Eddowe’s murder, they were called « the double event ».
