Mary Ann Nicols :
Born on 26th June 1845, she died on 31th June 1888, five days after her birthday, Mary-Ann Nicols, or Mary-Ann Walker was living at 56, Flower Street, described as a clean and good woman by her friends and her family, despite her problems of alcoholism. She had to prostitute herself, to feed her 5 children.
Nicol’s body was discovered at about 3:40 a.m. on Friday 31st August 1888 in Buch’s Row, Whitechapel. The throat was severed by two cuts and the lower part of the abdomen was partly ripped open by a deep, jagged wound. Several other incisions on the abdomen were caused by the same knife.
