The Fighting Temeraire tugged to her last Berth to be broken up, 1838, by William Turner
This oil painting was created by William Turner in 1839. It is a 91cm by 122cm canvas. We can see a beautiful old warship with a tugboat. In the background, a wonderful sun is setting on the sea. There are shades of light pink and yellow. It is as if the sun was rising after the battle. The painting looks blurred which recalls the Pre Raphaelite style, because it’s against conventional rules.
