AFGHANISTAN
In December 1838 a British army was assembled in India for an Afghan attack. By April 1839, after a difficult advance Kandahar was captured. Four months later Kabul was taken. The population of Afghanistan began to revolt. In 1842, the British troops went away from Kaboul. Most of the British and Indian soldiers were also killed. The British army recaptured Kaboul during the summer 1842,
